Overview

Vane was founded just about 75 years ago by a group of merchants who felt they could govern themselves better than The Library of Flore could, and Flore largely agreed, granting them part of Vrada and some of the surrounding towns, under the condition that they are granted discounted rates on trade from then on. The bargain was accepted, and a new nation peacefully formed. 

Since that time, Vane has become a hub for the well to do to collect and socialize, when Wymar Morely started his rail network, the council of Vane was its largest funder, granting the nation the last stop on the line between the south and northern lands. 

Vane is ruled by a council with 15 members, made up of merchants and other well-to-do people, with a place on the council requiring a transferable sigil, with the rumors being that the current going rate to buy one off a current holder is in the high six-figures.
