Post-Session 0 Lore Dump

# ERASTAD LORE
Erastad, The northeastern part of the greater continent of Alterra was once freed by, gifted to, and unified by King Marcsus, over 4 generations ago. Arimas, the neighboring country held a firm grip on a few strongholds and cities that would just barely reach the Emerald Coast and further inland. It was always too dangerous to travel too much further north of what is now Tennerus. Myths and Historical books alike tell tales of the creatures, demons, and twisted figures that called the wilderness home. The entirety of it unclaimable, scouts charting land, adventures seeking fame or treasures, even armies from Arimas or from the Dwarf mountains disappear. Only after General Marcsus, then one of the few Alterrans (original human race) with the blessing of Aroden was able to press forwards with blessed army and Make claim with became Marcsus Rise.
# The fucks an Alterren?
Alterrans are a proto-humans, originally living a few hundreds of years with innate divine spells and incredible mental and physical abilities. Brought to creation by the sacrifice of Aroden in the beginning times to fight back the Archdemons, and other beings of destruction back into a dimension of their own. (in turn creating non-elemental planes) After the dust settled, eternal beings behind seals, and a more natural order was set Alterrans saws the rise of many species, civilizations and customs. Generation getting so far from Arodens original gift of the divine magic imbued in the blood itself started to fade over the generations. Now many creatures of all races share a small fraction of that gift. Though few true alterrens still exist, even less in this game current time.
# Emerald Port (City)
A port city of Tennerus that see a large amount of incoming trade goods. With the two largest churches being of Abadar, who see fair trades and proper rulings to Goz’rah who keeps the Seas fair for ships and the forests safe for travellers through. From outbound trades from Khunamar Mountains, Ariamis and Erastad, and inbound from Kil’Dooria, Verconia, and  occasionally Tellius. To them the Emerald Port has always been the go to city for sending across the waters for many reasons. Any honest harborer or dockworker would say that it’s good laws and Abadars grace that keeps the docks busy and gold flowing. Always ready merchant ships, travellers and those willing to work keep the docks a place of wealth and virtue. While most agree still some will whisper or after a few drinks let loose how everyones a crook, taxes and dockfees are avoided, and how the green waters hide the blood and bodies sunken below, they might as well just let pirates run everything.
# Vyres raid of Emerald Port
The Party found themselves at the Emerald port at the wrong time. Over an evening it seems all the ships that docked came purely from Vyre, a few trade flags on other ships, and even merchant ships set to leave were blocked all evening. The commotion first keeping the guards concerned, and as nightfall hit their concerns were justified. Countless armed, waving Vyre banners ran the city streets gutting all who got in the way. It was quick, in just one night blood was spilled, powers changed, and a chilling silence came with the morning sunrise. Yet soon everyone found themselves behind bars, being executed, ripped from their homes, or banished. One of the leading Generals was given the title Lord Mayor of the Emerald Port, and that title pre-appointed by a letter from Vyre Lady Mistress Annette. Other Vyre General executed by their own court, so drunk he could barely tell what was going on, and was called a traitor and a stain on the regal red flags of Vyre.  Countless rigged trials when on over the course of that day, claiming anyone on the lands claimed by Asmodius MUST worship them, with any other deities being secondary. As well as many normal freedoms stripped and a total rework of the dock and port systems. The executions quickly got out of hand, prisons filled quick, and more body counts only ruin the Strong-arm will and painted Asmodious in only a worse light, so by the time the party’s trials came, banishment was what befell you all
# The Parties situation
Banishment could have been easy, thrown out to the city or escorted miles away. Sadly town officials had other plans.
So they loaded you up on a Emerald port trader ship, now waving banners of Vyre and its glory. Now headed to the Isle of Malice, Small Caribbean isles off the far end of Emerald coast’s borders. 6 of them in total but tales of the islands have grown larger than the isles themselves. Rumors of banished outlaws, crazies and other less then friendly folks left to die, their angry spirits still walking the coasts looking for a way off. Other speak of a tribe of less-then-human creatures that devour and eat anyone or anything dropped off the island, making due with the large insects and fish in desperate times. Even less talked about is rumor that none of those banished men actually died, all hiding out on a tropical paradise of their own making, lawless lands that are a wonderland for those who want to run the seas and cities without an eye on them.
