Overview
What is now the deadlands was once a bountiful plains inhabited by the Kastian goblins from the dawn of time.
It was the site of the battle between The Four and the titan Moramu, with her fallen corpse creating Moramu's Rest, but her decaying influence was kept at bay through the work of Veria, allowing the Kastians to remain in thier native lands, but when Veria vanished during the Betryal and the ward vanished, Moramu's influence turned the whole region into a swap, driving the goblins farther and farther south.
The Verial's again tempered Moramus power, by draining the place of water and turning it into a harsh badlands, a state it has remained in for thousands and thousands of years after that.
After The Roar and the death of the inner sea gods, and Emaria putting thier own ward over the remains of the Titan of Decay, Empress Aluea of the Verial had the wards that made the deadlands supernaturally dry removed, once again allowing rain and rivers to flow through the long parched region.
With the return of water, people have begun to move into the deadlands, willing to contend with its still harsh enviroment for sefveral reasons, to escape the constant violence of the southern plains, to extract all the precious metals and gems that are abundant in the lands, or just to prove they are tough enough to survive agains the climate and remainning Gnolls.
The harsh climate and wealth that can be found here has leas Wymar Industries to make a large push for its railway here, being the main thing that connects towns in the Deadlands.
